Gratitude Alchemy

my daily practice
Artist statement
Based in the Pacific Northwest, I am a Seattle‑born creative with a broad range of artistic and technical freelance experience. Daily walks in nature and time spent in my garden deeply influence the colors, textures, and stories woven throughout my work.
I create original mixed‑media pieces using driftwood, photography, collage, acrylic, watercolor, trade beads, alcohol ink, layered textures, written words, and design. Through these materials, I explore and express light, enchantment, wonder, and joy.
My Gratitude Series began in 2018 with a simple text exchange with a friend. What started as words soon called to become visual. I was drawn to a mixed‑media process using black gesso—a technique that allowed my written reflections to emerge with depth and luminosity. I was immediately mesmerized.
Over time, this practice evolved into a daily ritual. It took nearly a year to refine the process into a focused morning routine—one that could be completed in under thirty minutes. This practice has become a powerful catalyst in my life, offering clarity, peace, and creative focus. Through gratitude, I remain grounded, reminding myself that the life I am living is already more than enough.
My work also serves as a way to manifest what lies ahead. By weaving affirmations and intentions into expressions of gratitude, each piece becomes both reflection and invitation—anchored in presence while reaching toward possibility.
I am now called to share this visual gratitude practice with a broader audience, offering others the opportunity to experience the same sense of joy, calm, and authenticity that it brings to my daily life. My greatest hope is that my artwork sparks something creative, soothing, and deeply personal for those who encounter it.
